Stones, Sands and Castle Grounds
The Calanais Standing Stones on the west side of Lewis were raised around 5,000 years ago beside Loch Roag, with a circle of 13 stones around a tall central stone. On Harris, Luskentyre beach has white sand looking out to the island of Taransay.
Across the harbour from Stornoway, the Lews Castle grounds have walking trails, and the castle houses Museum nan Eilean. Since the islands are small, it helps to browse members across Scotland too.
