Historic Settings for a First Date
On the edge of Newport, Tredegar House is a 17th century red brick mansion looked after by the National Trust, set in about 90 acres of parkland with a lake. Chepstow Castle stands on cliffs above the Wye and was begun in 1067.
Further up the Wye, the ruins of Tintern Abbey, founded in 1131 as the first Cistercian house in Wales, sit beside the water. Above Monmouth, the Kymin has a Naval Temple and wide views. Plenty more widowed singles can be found across Wales.
